TE RAU O RONGO charitable trust

Reconnecting whānau to whenua, through kai maara.

At Te Rau o Rongo Charitable Trust, we are dedicated to nurturing the connection between our whanau and the whenua. Our goal is to promote food sovereignty and indigenous sustainable living practices, believing that healing the land will lead to the healing of our people.

What we do

Guided by ngā kaupapa of Hua Parakore, we practise food sovereignty through inspiring educational initiatives and kaupapa Māori research. We provide a restorative space where whanau can engage in activities that promote mana motuhake or self-determination that leads to whanau resilience

Our Why

We cultivate potential by promoting whenua-inspired education that not only enriches the whenua but also revitalises the healing knowledge inherent in Te Ao Māori.

Our vision

Te Rau o Rongo Charitable Trust is committed to reconnecting with the whenua to facilitate healing, recovery, and revitalisation of traditional Kai cultivation
